Puffin Books has announced the upcoming publication of a new Doctor Who short story collection exclusively penned by female authors.
The Day She Saved The Doctor will star companions Rose Tyler, Clara Oswald, Bill Potts and Sarah Jane Smith in four brand new adventures celebrating the impact that the Doctor’s female friends have made throughout the show’s history.
The new Doctor Who story collection – which will fittingly be released on International Women’s Day in March 2018 – is the first to feature solely female authors. Making their Doctor Who writing debuts are comedian Susan Calman and novelist Dorothy Koomson, with stories from established Doctor Who authors Jenny Colgan and Jacqueline Rayner completing the collection.
So chuffed to have written for this Doctor Who book. Out next March. https://t.co/YRprqVC7qN

The new set of stories will come only a few short months after Doctor Who introduces its first female incarnation of the Doctor, with Jodie Whittaker set to take over the role from departing Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi in the closing moments of this year’s Christmas special, Twice Upon a Time.
The Day She Saved The Doctor is available to pre-order now ahead of its release on 8th March 2018.
