UPDATE: An Adventure in Space and Time will air on Friday 22nd November at 9/8C.
The BBC Media Centre has confirmed a UK air date for Mark Gatiss’ drama on the origins of Doctor Who in 1963, An Adventure in Space and Time.
The drama will air on Thursday 21st November at 9pm on BBC Two in the UK. The drama will last for 90 minutes, and will finish at 10.30pm. It will also air in Australia on Sunday 24th November at 8.45pm on ABC1.
The synopsis for the drama, which stars David Bradley as William Hartnell, is below:
Actor William Hartnell felt trapped by a succession of hard-man roles. Wannabe producer Verity Lambert was frustrated by the TV industry’s glass ceiling. Both of them were to find unlikely hope and unexpected challenges in the form of a Saturday tea-time drama, time travel and monsters!
Allied with a team of brilliant people, they went on to create the longest-running science fiction series ever, now celebrating its 50th anniversary.
