Big Finish has announced that it will be wrapping up its series of Jago & Litefoot audio dramas next year with one last adventure.
Jago & Litefoot Forever will be the final story for the two Infernal Investigators following the sad loss of Trevor Baxter (Professor George Litefoot) earlier this year.
Baxter originally appeared alongside Christopher Benjamin (Henry Gordon Jago) in the Fourth Doctor serial The Talons of Weng Chiang, with the duo going on to reprise their roles in thirteen boxsets for Big Finish.
Producer David Richardson says:
“Everybody loved Trevor Baxter. Everyone who worked with Trevor and Christopher Benjamin on this series said those days were the best of their lives – the studio of Jago & Litefoot was such a happy place to be and create stories. Losing Trevor was awful and we still think of him all the time. In mourning him, we also wanted to celebrate him, and bring Jago & Litefoot to a close with a very special episode.”
Written by Paul Morris, Jago & Litefoot Forever sees Christopher Benjamin star alongside Lisa Bowerman, Conrad Asquith and guest star David Warner, as he tries to get to the bottom of one more mystery:
Henry Gordon Jago finds himself celebrating New Years’ Eve without his best friend. Where has Litefoot gone? Together with his friends Ellie, Quick, and Dr Betterman, Jago is on the trail of the missing professor and dear friend – and it will lead to one of the strangest cases in their infernal investigations…
“We couldn’t have Trevor with us for the recording, but we knew he was there with us in spirit. Also, with thanks to Trevor’s agent and his estate for their permission, he will appear in the episode courtesy of existing takes from a library of 60 days of previous studio recordings. Would Trevor have minded? Of course not – he would have absolutely relished the idea, the opportunity to give this much-cherished series the send-off it deserves.”
Also returning to see the two investigators off are Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, Louise Jameson as companion Leela, Jamie Newall (Aubrey) and Rowena Cooper (Queen Victoria), with Baxter’s former co-stars appearing in a series of special cameos throughout the episode.
Jago & Litefoot Forever is available to pre-order now from Big Finish ahead of its release in May 2018 as a three-disc boxset, which will also include two Jago & Litefoot Short Trips as well as an hour-long tribute to Trevor Baxter.
