Since it was announced last year, there’s been little news about the new spin-off to be set in Coal Hill, Class – but it’s been revealed today that BBC America will be heavily involved with the spin-off.
The US cable channel confirmed today at the TCAs that they have picked up the spin-off to air in autumn 2016, likely to be near-concurrent with the UK broadcast on BBC Three. BBC America also revealed that they will be co-producing the spin-off, which is being scripted by novelist Patrick Ness.
The first season of Class airs this autumn on BBC Three in the UK and BBC America in the US, consisting of eight hour-long episodes.
