Some rather disappointing news has emerged today for subscribers of the popular Doctor Who Adventures magazine. It seems that with the recent increase in postage costs, especially in the large letter class (in which category a magazine would be found) BBC Magazines Limited who recently became part of the Immediate Media Company Group, have found it difficult to offer subscriptions encompassing both the magazine itself and the associated postage costs into an affordable ongoing concern:
“We have explored all options, but in the end found that there is no viable way to keep the subscription service going without losing money.
I would like to express my sincerest apologies for this disappointment. I appreciate that this may cause significant upset for the little ones who love getting their magazine through the door every week.”
The advice being given at this time is that all subscribers are to shortly receive a letter within the coming days with advice on how to reclaim any overpayments on their subscription plan.
It looks like the best option for fans of the magazine is to put in a regular order with their local newsagents to ensure they don’t miss out on their latest Doctor Who Adventures fix.
