The Radio Times have reported that the title for November’s 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who will be ‘The Day Of The Doctor’. The episode starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Hurt, Jenna Coleman and Billie Piper, will have an extended length of 75 minutes; not quite the 90 minutes that showrunner Steven Moffat recently hinted at, but still markedly longer than a standard episode.
Speaking about the show’s anniversary, BBC Television’s Director Danny Cohen said:
“It’s an astonishing achievement for a drama to reach its 50th anniversary. I’d like to thank every person – on both sides of the camera – who has been involved with its creative journey over so many years.”
The special episode will be simulcast worldwide on November 23rd.
