Doctor Who: BFI To Host Verity Lambert Tribute Event

The British Film Institute has announced a special tribute event to honour Verity Lambert, the first producer of Doctor Who (1963-1965). Lambert was a pioneer for women in British television and, following her departure from Doctor Who in 1965, she went on to become one of the most successful producers in British television of her time.

This event was announced as a part of BFI’s Women in Film season, and will be a 90 minute panel hosted by Richard Marson. Marson has also written a biography of Lambert, titled Drama and Delight: The Life of Verity Lambert.

The panel will be held on Wednesday, 1 April, at 6.10pm at the BFI Southbank. Guests include Joanna Lumley and Lynda La Plante. Tickets will be available on the website beginning 10 March.
