It’s been confirmed that Doctor Who will once again make an appearance on the BBC’s annual charity telethon, Children in Need, this November.
A press release from the BBC states:
There will also be performances from the West End’s hit musicals Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Made in Dagenham, Once and Sunny Afternoon. Plus the cast of EastEnders in a musical performance that will transform The Square. Also helping out Pudsey on the big night with be Doctor Who and Call the Midwife.
Doctor Who content has become a tradition for Children in Need – with most years containing the first trailer for the Christmas Special. Other years have seen special minisodes, such as 2007’s multi-Doctor short Time Crash, while last year saw an exclusive clip from The Day of the Doctor.
Considering Series 8 will conclude with the finale, Death in Heaven, the week beforehand, a special minisode is unlikely – so it’s likely that Children in Need night will see the very first trailer for the 2014 Christmas Special, guest starring Nick Frost. We’ll keep you updated as more news comes in, so stay tuned!
Children in Need
takes place on Friday 14th November. You can find out more details and donate here
