The BAFTA Craft Awards took place last night, honouring the best of television’s production design and effects – and Doctor Who-related programmes scooped two awards.
50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, picked up the award for Special, Visual and Graphic Effects – with new visual effects company Milk, Real SFX and the Model Unit sharing the honours for the 3D big-budget extravaganza. But that wasn’t it for Who – origins drama An Adventure in Space and Time also picked up the award for Best Make Up and Hair, thanks to all the styling (and hairspray) involved in recreating the 1960s.
The Day of the Doctor and An Adventure in Space and Time have also been nominated for the BAFTAs themselves, which will take place in May.
