Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor – Final UK Viewing Figures

The consolidated viewing figures for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, The Day Of The Doctor have been released.

The episode had a mighty 12.80 million viewers after a week of recordings – a rise of over two and a half million on the overnight viewing figure of 10.18 million. That makes The Day of the Doctor the third highest rated episode of post-2005 Doctor Who (behind Voyage of the Damned and The Next Doctor), and the highest rated episode of Matt Smith’s era.

The episode’s chart placing will be officially revealed tomorrow, but it appears as if Doctor Who will be number one for the week! The figure does not include those watching on iPlayer – Doctor Who was number one on the catch-up service for around three days.
