The overnight UK viewing figures for last night’s Doctor Who series opener, Deep Breath, have been released.
The episode had 6.79 million viewers on average, and a share of 32.5% of the overall audience, and the episode peaked with 7.3 million. That’s the highest figure for a series opener since 2010’s The Eleventh Hour.
Doctor Who was the most watched programme of the day, easily beating second and third placed shows Casualty and Tumble.
The consolidated viewing figures will be released next week, where Doctor Who will rise considerably in the ratings.
