With the ever growing anticipation for the 50th Anniversary getting bigger every day, more and more people are organising bigger and more elaborate ways of celebrating. The latest in these celebrations is The Doc Lands @ 50 Party, which is to be held in London in Docklands on Saturday 23rd November.
Organised by renowned party organisers Jeremy Bentham, Paul Bentham and Tony Clark, the party will start around 7pm after the BBC’s official 50th Anniversary celebration at ExCel has finished.
In an interview with Doctor Who News, Jeremy Bentham said:
The ultimate form of celebration is getting together to share an enthusiasm. Doctor Who fans have been sharing their passion for the programme since the ’70s, but doing it on 23rd November 2013 is definitely the light on top of the police box, and will be a great occasion to don your party hats – fez, stetson, astrakhan, fedora, Paris Beau, or panama.
It will be free to attend – although food and drink will be available to buy at the party – and open to everyone aged 18 and over, whether they are attending the ExCel or not. Entry will be by ticket only, which is limited to 1,500 places.
To apply for tickets, email Jeremy at email@example.com by Monday 9th September putting ‘Doc Lands Ticket Applications’ as the subject and including your name and how many tickets you would like. Please consider transport arrangements for after the party as it is planned to go on till late. Successful applicants will then be contacted in early November with their ticket(s) and further details.
