Doctor Who Experience Announces Final Summer Events

After five years, the Doctor Who Experience has announced a jam-packed programme of special events to mark its final summer before the attraction closes on 9th September 2017.

Events due to take place at the Experience over the next couple of months include:

Updated Filming Location Tours
This summer sees the return of the Doctor Who filming location tours. Starting from Saturday 8th July, these 75-minute walking tours in and around Cardiff Bay will include locations featured in the latest TV series as well as iconic settings from previous Doctor Who series. Tickets will be on sale from midday on Friday 16th June.

Updated Exhibition For Series 10
On Saturday 8th July several new exhibits will be unveiled from the latest series of Doctor Who. Props, sets and costumes from Series 10 will join the Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie costumes that already form part of the exhibition.

Unveiling Of The Restored Yeti
As part of the ongoing Restoration Project, fans voted for the Yeti from The Web of Fear as the monster they’d most like to see restored. On Saturday 8th July Model Unit expert Mike Tucker will be on hand as the final, renovated Yeti is unveiled to visitors.

Cyberman Invasion
The Experience will host its final Monster Event on Saturday 22nd July, themed around the Cybermen. The day will include a talk and Q&A session with the show’s monster-makers, Millennium FX, who will also be giving fans a chance to be converted into Cybermen themselves. Mondasian Cybermen will be roaming the Experience floor throughout the day, which will be rounded off with a special screening of Series 10’s two-part finale in the exhibition area. More details on the screening will be released soon.

Cosplay Event
The Experience will be hosting its biggest cosplay event yet on Saturday 5th August. Fans will be invited and encouraged to head down to the Experience as their favourite Doctor Who character or monster to celebrate the best of Doctor Who cosplay. More details on this event are to be released soon.

The Final Countdown
Fans should expect the unexpected during the final two weekends of the Doctor Who Experience as the interactive walk-through experience comes to life. More details will be released soon.

The Experience has also announced that it will be releasing details on how it will be using the Doctor Who filming locations to continue the commercial presence of Doctor Who in Cardiff in due course.
