Doctor Who Festival To Land In Australia

Exciting news for Doctor Who fans down under: BBC Worldwide have announced the first official Doctor Who Festival in Australia! The event will take place at the Royal Hall of Industries and Horndern Pavilion in Sydney, on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November 2015. Fans will be able to see the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi and executive producer Steven Moffat, with more talent announced shortly.

This Festival follows closely from the UK version of the event, which runs 13th – 15th November at ExCel, London, promising fans of all ages exclusive access to the magic and heritage behind the show with chances to hear from key cast members in talent Q&A’s, limited photograph and autograph opportunities, interactive workshops with Doctor Who’s resident creative team and chances to win great prizes in the ultimate Doctor Who Quiz. Exclusive merchandise will also be available, making the festival a must-attend event for any Doctor Who fan, with more exciting announcements promised in due course.

Additionally, in a first for New Zealand fans, Peter Capaldi will be attending an intimate event with fans in Auckland on the 24th of November. Venue and ticket details for this event will be announced in due course.

“Being unveiled as Doctor Who in Sydney at last year’s world tour, and meeting the fantastic Australian fans was such a cosmic, life changing experience that I’m thrilled to be coming back for a full weekend of Time Lord mania.”

Each Festival ticket includes:

  • Q&A Panels – see the writers and cast unveil secrets about how they make an idea become reality on a show as big and wonderful as Doctor Who.
  • Photo and Autograph Opportunities – A limited number of opportunities for photos and autographs will be made available in due course.
  • Wardrobe Department – A fantastic exhibition of original costumes and props.
  • Doctor Who Quiz – Fans will be able to test their knowledge in a traditional themed setting, to win some great prizes.
Day ticket prices:

  • General Adult: $195
  • General Concession: $99
  • TARDIS Adult: $365
  • TARDIS Concession: $265
All tickets are subject to a processing fee of 1.95% + transaction fee. The general ticket will include one day entry to the Festival, access to three separate theatre shows with the cast and writers, Festival lanyards and a show planner. TARDIS tickets will include all of the above along with reserved seats for the theatre sessions, exclusive access to a TARDIS lounge with two free drinks and a Doctor Who goodie bag with merchandise to the value of $110.

Tickets can be purchased at Ticketek with the pre-sale tickets available from 11am on 1st July, and general sale from 11am on 6th July. Fans interested in signing up for pre-sale tickets should head to the Doctor Who Festival website for more information.
