Many Doctor Who fans have been waiting for a DVD release of last year’s multi-Doctor 50th anniversary spoof, The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot – but while news of a 50th anniversary collection DVD had leaked, there has been no information on a DVD release for the spoof.
However, Sixth Doctor actor Colin Baker confirmed this weekend at a convention that The Five(ish) Doctors will be getting a DVD release as part of a 50th anniversary DVD boxset – this is very likely to be the DVD of which details were leaked in February (you can read about that here).
This special anniversary ‘collector’s edition’ will contain some of the 50th anniversary celebratory programmes transmitted last year on the BBC, as well as the anniversary special The Day of the Doctor, according to previous leaks. It is also likely that it will contain Christmas Special The Time of the Doctor, as well as minisode The Night of the Doctor – inclusion of Series 7 finale The Name of the Doctor is also a possibility.
While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, Baker’s remarks match up with the previous leaks that there will be a special collection released later this year. We’ll keep you updated with any new information such as box art, release date and full details of the boxset’s features as they arrive!
