Doctor Who: The Girl Who Died – Poll Results

For the past week you’ve been voting in our two polls for The Girl Who Died – our ‘rate the episode’ poll and our Question of the Week poll. We’ve now closed both polls and you can view the results below.

First up, our rate the episode poll. The episode produced the most divided response this season, even more so than last week (which you can read here), which translate into a set of results that are fairly solid, but fall below what we’ve seen so far this season:
  • Excellent (5/5) – 30.7%
  • Very good (4/5) – 45.61%
  • OK (3/5) – 16.67%
  • Poor (2/5) – 5.26%
  • Dreadful (1/5) – 1.75%
The Girl Who Died had an average score of 3.98/5. That’s higher than several Series 8 episodes got, but with the high standard Series 9 has held so far, episode five slots into bottom place for the time being. Here’s our current leaderboard:
All average scores are out of 5.
  1. The Witch’s Familiar4.55
  2. The Magician’s Apprentice4.45
  3. Under the Lake4.37
  4. Before the Flood4.05
  5. The Girl Who Died – 3.98
The Girl Who Died‘s Question of the Week asked: ‘Was the Doctor right to resurrect Ashildr?’. Did he make the correct decision in making the young Viking immortal? The poll was divided almost evenly for a considerable amount of time, but a surprising consensus eventually emerged:
  • Yes, he was right – 42.5%
  • No, he was wrong – 57.5%
We’ll have a rate the episode poll for The Woman Who Lived for you straight after the episode tonight at 9.10pm – and this week’s Question of the Week will be up tomorrow.
