Doctor Who: Heaven Sent Nominated For Hugo Award

The penultimate episode of Doctor Who series 9 finale, Heaven Sent, has been nominated for a 2016 Hugo Award.

Written by Steven Moffat and directed by Rachel Talaly, the episode featured an (almost) single handed performance from Capaldi and has been highly praised by critics and fans alike.
Heaven Sent is up against Grimm (Universal), Jessica Jones (Marvel Television), My Little Pony (DHX Media) and Supernatural (Kripke Enterprises) in the category for Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form).

Doctor Who has previously won Hugo Awards for The Doctor’s Wife, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang and The Waters of Mars. Listen was also nominated last year, but lost out in the final voting.

The winners of the 2016 Hugo will be announced on Saturday 20th August at the MidAmeriCon II Hugo Awards Ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri.
