Doctor Who: ‘It’s Like Being In a Band’ – Gillan

Karen Gillan, who plays outgoing companion Amy Pond, has compared being in Doctor Who to ‘being in a band’.

She has been interviewed along with Arthur Darvill (Rory) for the Guardian’s Saturday Culture section.  Among other things, Darvill talks about his band Edmund – named after a character in The Chronicles of Narnia – and nominates The Pandorica Opens as his favourite Doctor Who episode because he felt he was ‘filming Indiana Jones… Playing a soldier in space!’

Tonight’s episode A Town Called Mercy, to be shown on BBC1 at 7.35pm, is the antepenultimate episode for the Ponds, with just The Power of Three and The Angels Take Manhattan to come.
