Doctor Who Live: Special Guests Announced

Peter Davison and Bernard Cribbins are among the guests who have been confirmed to appear on tonight’s Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor, a special one-off live show to reveal the identity of the 12th Doctor, with host Zoe Ball grabbing the first interview with the new Time Lord.

Head writer Steven Moffat and current Doctor Matt Smith will also be present to give their pearls of wisdom to the next Doctor. Other special guests to appear on the show tonight include Rufus Hound, Liza Tarbuck and Outnumbered’s Daniel Roche. There will also be special pre-recorded messages from former Doctor Colin Baker, writer Mark Gatiss, Radio 1’s Jo Whiley and Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli, along with former companions Katy Manning, Anneke Wills, Janet Fielding and Bonnie Langford. Professor Robert Winston and Professor Brian Cox will also be contributing.

The star-studded event promises to be a night of excitement as the biggest role in television is handed onto the next actor or actress, with Matt Smith departing the show in this year’s Christmas special. The event will be simulcast on BBC America, ABC1 and Space to ensure that fans from all over the world have a chance to be involved.

Steven Moffat said: “The decision is made and the time has come to reveal who’s taking over the TARDIS. For the last of the Time Lords, the clock is striking 12.”

Who else is excited? We certainly are!
