The overnight UK viewing figures for last night’s episode, Mummy on the Orient Express, have been released.
The episode had 5.08 million viewers on average and a share of 22.1% of the overall TV audience. That’s an impressive rise of 260k on Kill the Moon, and the first 5 million-plus rating since Robot of Sherwood. The episode aired in its latest slot yet (8.35pm), and clashed completely with the The X Factor.
Doctor Who was the third most watched programme of the day, behind Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor.
The consolidated viewing figures will be released next week, where Doctor Who will rise considerably in the ratings.
