Speaking in Doctor Who Magazine this month, Steven Moffat has answered a few questions left over from Series 8 of Doctor Who.
The first, posed as to the true fate of Osgood, has revealed that she is in fact, dead. Fans had speculated that the Osgood seen in Death in Heaven was in fact the Zygon copy introduced in last year’s The Day of the Doctor but the lead writer has rebuffed this saying that a Zygon would never die that easily.
Moffat was also quizzed on how Orson Pink, as seen in Listen, could exist following Danny’s death. The writer said:
Well, I can think of several explanations, but the obvious one is that Orson comes from another branch of the family. He knows about Danny’s heroic sacrifice , because Clara got in touch with the Pink family after the events of Death in Heaven (because you would, wouldn’t you?), and told them what he did, and why. And she gave them the little soldier, as a keepsake of a great man and a great soldier – and because she knows the toy soldier has to remain in the Pink family line.
Although he did say that nothing is set in stone until it appears in the show (and sometimes not even then!) and Moffat has been known to lie before.
