Doctor Who: New Radio Trailers For Deep Breath

Two new radio trailers for the feature-length opening episode of Series 8, Deep Breath, have aired on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Both trailers feature the highly-anticipated Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and his assistant Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), and come hot on the heels of Deep Breath’s new television trailer.

The first trailer can be heard in the clip below, and contains some tantalising new lines concerning the Doctor’s new appearance:

Reproduced below, these lines seem to fit in with recent comments from showrunner Steven Moffat that Peter Capaldi’s previous appearances in the Doctor Who universe will be explained:

Doctor: “I never know where the faces come from. They just pop up.”

Clara: “I don’t think I know who the Doctor is anymore.”

Doctor: “It’s covered in lines. But I didn’t do the frowning. Who frowned me this face?”

The second radio trailer, meanwhile, completes a segment of dialogue heard between the Doctor and Clara in previous trailers:

Deep Breath has already screened at special fan events in Cardiff, London, Seoul, Sydney and most recently New York as part of the Doctor Who World Tour. It will now go on to be shown as part of the tour in Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro next week, before being aired on television and screened in cinemas worldwide on Saturday 23rd August.
