The voice of the Daleks himself, Nicholas Briggs, has been chatting to OneZoneRadio about the Dalek scenes in the upcoming 50th anniversary special.
Promising ‘explosive action’, Briggs said:
“There were some big, big explosions. The biggest explosions I’ve ever seen on Doctor Who when they were shooting the bits with the Daleks. And I suddenly got a feeling of what it might be like to be in a warzone!”
“The set-ups with the Daleks are the most spectacular, ambitious set-ups I’ve ever worked on on Doctor Who. It was like being in a huge movie. It was enormous. There was rubble everywhere!”
It has been rumoured that the scenes Briggs is referring to (which were shown in a set of pictures released last month, one of which you can see in thumbnail form above) are set in the Time War, but this is unconfirmed.
Doctor Who‘s extended 50th anniversary special will air around the world on Saturday 23 November – exactly three months from today. Excited yet?
