The overnight viewing figures for last night’s Doctor Who episode, Nightmare in Silver, have been released.
The episode had 4.7 million viewers and a share of 21% of the overall audience. That’s a rise of 100k on last week’s episode, The Crimson Horror – and a pretty respectable figure, given that Doctor Who was up against the last 15 minutes and post-match coverage of the FA Cup Final over on ITV.
Nightmare in Silver was the fourth most viewed programme of the day – after Britain’s Got Talent, the FA Cup Final and The Voice UK. At the time of writing, Doctor Who is number one on iPlayer.
The consolidated viewing figures will be available next Sunday, where the episode should rise by at least 1.5 million.
