Doctor Who Nominated For National Television Awards

It’s that time of year again. It’s the National Television Awards and once again Doctor Who and its two leading stars are up for awards.

The show has been nominated in the Drama category, up against Broadchurch, Call The Midwife, Casualty, DCI Banks, Death In Paradise, Doc Martin, Downton Abbey, Endeavour, Foyle’s War, Holby City, Homeland, Jonathan Creek, Last Tango in Halifax, Law & Order: UK, Lewis.

Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman are also competing for Best Drama Performance. Other competitors include Miranda Hart (Call The Midwife), Jessica Raine (Call The Midwife), Suzanne Packer (Casualty), Sunetra Sarker (Casualty), Caroline Catz (Doc Martin), Martin Clunes (Doc Martin), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey), Guy Henry (Holby City), Rosie Marcel (Holby City), Claire Danes (Homeland) and Damian Lewis (Homeland).

Voting is open now on the National Television Awards website and closes on 11th October 2013. The ‘longlist’ will be narrowed down to a ‘shortlist’ in January 2014, when final voting and the ceremony itself will take place.
