A special retrospective marking Peter Capaldi’s exit from his role as the Twelfth Doctor will be aired this Christmas on BBC America.
Doctor Who: Farewell to Peter Capaldi, narrated by Doctor Who and Torchwood actor Colin McFarlane, will feature archive footage and interviews looking back at Capaldi’s era as the Doctor – from his very first script read through to his very last.
The special, which will air immediately after this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special Twice Upon a Time, will also see outgoing showrunner Steven Moffat reflect upon his time as a writer and executive producer, revealing some of his best and worst moments from his tenure as well as his favorite episodes.
Peter Capaldi’s final episode will see his Doctor team up with his very first incarnation, with David Bradley taking on the role originated by William Hartnell. Also making her final Doctor Who appearance will be actress Pearl Mackie as companion Bill Potts, whilst the momentous special will also welcome in Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor.
Twice Upon a Time will air in the US on Christmas Day at 9/8c on BBC America.
