Doctor Who: Peter Capaldi Teases Clara’s Last Episode

WARNING: This post contains spoilers some may want to avoid.

Peter Capaldi will appear as a guest on Graham Norton’s couch tomorrow, 20 November, and while he was there, he discussed Saturday’s upcoming episode, Face the Raven. With a one-hander episode next week in Heaven Sent, followed by the finale Hell Bent, some fans have wondered whether Saturday’s episode will, in fact, be Clara’s last.

Capaldi seems to have confirmed this theory, saying of Face the Raven:

“It’s a sad one, gripping and very strange.

And it’s the end of the line for Clara Oswald played by Jenna Coleman who’s been my companion for the last two years. It’s the end of her story. I don’t want to go into the details of it, but it’s sad.”

While it’s still unclear exactly how Clara will exit the show, Capaldi addressed the idea of her returning for an appearance in the future, saying,

“Sometimes people can’t come back. Sometimes things happen that they can’t come back from.”

What do you think will cause Clara to leave the Doctor for good? Will she die, or be somehow separated from him in a way even time travel can’t fix? Let us know below!

Face the Raven airs this Saturday, 21 November at 8.10 p.m. on BBC One, and at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST on BBC America.
