Filming continues today on Series 8 of Doctor Who with star Peter Capaldi, who was spotted in Cardiff city centre this morning along with newly-announced guest star Michelle Gomez as the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere (read more here) and a couple of familiar faces, although co-star Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) was not present.
It is believed that the current filming is for episode twelve, which has been written by the show’s head writer and executive producer Steven Moffat and is being directed by Rachel Talalay.
Actresses Jemma Redgrave (Kate Stewart) and Ingrid Oliver (Osgood), whose characters were last seen in 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor, will be reappearing in the series finale – and it looks like this time Osgood has swapped out her Fourth Doctor scarf in favour of a bow tie and a pair of Converse!
Also returning will be the Cybermen, who will be sporting the same design they had as when they were last seen in Series 7’s Nightmare in Silver:
Capaldi, as always, seemed perfectly happy during breaks in filming to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans:
