Doctor Who Series 8 Rumors – The Master, Pompeii + Jack The Ripper?

Will Series 8 feature the RETURN of the Master?

Series 8 has began filming and already rumours have been speculating about what it will feature. With the Doctor having his new face, will we see the return of the deluded Time Lord ‘The Master’ ?

The Master was last seen in 2010 in The End of Time, sacrificing himself against the mighty Rassilon, but could we see him return in 2014? The speculations don’t have any proven fact to them, but as each series have their own main villain, Series 8 could see this role being played by The Master.

Last time we saw The Master, he was played by John Simm but for Series 8, The Master is rumoured to be played by Charles Dance (pictured right), he has been in a selection of movies and programmes including The Phantom Of The Opera, Merlin and Game Of Thrones as well as many other roles. Could we see The Master return with a new threat, or do you think he has featured enough? Leave a comment below.

The Doctor and The Fires Of Pompeii

Remember when it was announced Peter Capaldi would take over Matt Smith as The Doctor, and many were shocked as we have seen him before in Doctor Who in The Fires of Pompeii? This hasn’t been ignored.

”I remember Russell [T Davies] told me that he had a big old plan as to why there were two Peter Capaldi’s in the Who universe: one in Pompeii and one in Torchwood. When I cast Peter and Russell got in touch to say how pleased he was, I said, ‘Okay, what was your theory and does it still work?” and he said, ‘Yes it does. Here it is…’ – Steven Moffat in a video interview with Nerd3.

So, it seems we could be seeing The Doctor return to Pompeii?

Jack The Ripper to feature?

We’ve always had a range of aliens and villains in Doctor Who, but it is also rumoured Jack The Ripper could be seen in one episode? Possibly, the first one as this would be a nice opposition to The Doctor, Clara and Vastra, Jenny and Strax? Vastra might even think of him as ”stringy but tasty” Possibly even ”Captain Jack, The Ripper?” We’ll have to see.

That’s it for now for rumours, but as usual we’ll keep you up to date on all things WHO here at The Gallifrey Times. Remember to post your comments below on what you think could appear in Series 8!
