Doctor Who: Smile – Overnight UK Viewing Figures

The overnight UK viewing figures for last night’s episode, Smile, have been released.

The episode had 4.25 million viewers on average, and a share of 22.9%, a small drop from last week’s rating of 4.64 for the series opener. It compares favourably to the second episode of last year’s series, The Witch’s Familiar, which earned 3.71 million on overnight figures due to a Rugby World Cup match.

Doctor Who was fourth for the day, behind Britain’s Got Talent, All Round to Mrs Brown’s, and coverage of an FA Cup semi-final, and third for BBC One.

The consolidated viewing figures will be released next week, where Doctor Who will likely rise notably in the ratings.
