In this week’s upcoming issue of the Radio Times, Jenna Coleman talks about the future of Clara Oswald, and what she is and isn’t allowed to say about those rumors she’s exiting the show at Christmas.
“We’ve sat down with Steven Moffat and we’ve all decided we don’t want anybody to know which way it’s going. If you know I’m in the next series, or if you know I’m off, you’ll know how the story ends.”
And what about that cute Maths teacher, Danny Pink? Coleman teases a “big surprise” when it comes to Danny, saying:
“We do see Clara beginning to fall for Danny. There’s a big surprise we’ve got coming. It’s much better than nobody knows which way it’s going to go, so that’s where we’re trying to keep it at the moment.”
Keeping the mystery alive! Personally, I am glad the Doctor Who team has made the decision to keep the ending of series 8 in the dark. It seems everyone knows everything about the show before it even airs, these days, and the constant flow of spoilers doesn’t help matters.
What do you think? Are you glad they’re keeping Clara’s departure (or lack thereof) a secret, or would you rather know in advance? And do you think they can possibly avoid the general public finding out before the episode airs? Sound off below!
