Doctor Who: Titan Comics To Celebrate Cybermen Anniversary
Titan Comics has announced that this year’s special Doctor Who event comic will be a five-issue, bi-weekly crossover series featuring all four modern Doctors and commemorating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Cybermen.
Written by best-selling authors George Mann (Eighth Doctor, Dark Souls) and Cavan Scott (Ninth Doctor, Vikings) with art by Alessandro Vitti (Secret Warriors, Captain America & Hawkeye), Supremacy of the Cybermen will feature the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors along with their comic companions – Gabby, Cindy, Alice, Rose and Captain Jack – as they face off against the Cybermen, who first appeared in First Doctor serial The Tenth Planet in 1966:
Exiled from Gallifrey at the very end of time, Rassilon, fallen leader of the Time Lords, has been captured by the last of the Cybermen. Now, the Cybermen have access to time travel. With it, every defeat becomes a victory. Every foe is now dead – or Cyberized.
Titan has also revealed five variant covers for the series’ debut issue, including an art cover by Vitti, a photo cover by Will Brooks, a Cybermen variant by Fabio Listrani, a colouring variant and a blank sketch variant, all of which can be seen below (click to enlarge):
