Doctor Who: The Web of Fear DVD Details

The BBC have released a synopsis and details of the special features for the upcoming release of the previously missing Second Doctor serial The Web of Fear.

The synopsis is as follows:

Previously unseen in the UK for 45 years and re-mastered from newly discovered tapes located in Nigeria, the formerly missing Doctor Who classic – Web of Fear – will soon be available to own on DVD. Starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, alongside Frazer Hines (Jamie) and Deborah Watling (Victoria) as companions, this iconic story sees the TARDIS narrowly avoid becoming engulfed in a mysterious cobweb-like substance in space before arriving in the London Underground railway system.

The Doctor soon discovers that something strange is afoot as the tunnels are being overrun by the web, an army or robotic yetis and The Great Intelligence

The special features for the DVD are as follows:

  • Episode 3 Reconstruction: The missing third episode is presented with the soundtrack and surviving images from the episode.
  • Subtitles

The release is an exciting one for classic Who lovers, and even people who have only recently started watching, as missing episodes have been reclaimed throughout last year and are now available to watch on shiny disc from the comfort of your own sofa.

The serial will be on sale on the 24th of February. Are you a fan of the classic era of Doctor Who? Are you excited for this release? Comment below.
