The consolidated viewing figures for episode two of Series 9, The Witch’s Familiar, have been released.
The episode had 5.71 million viewers after a week of recordings – a rise of exactly two million on the overnight rating of 3.71 million. As previously mentioned, the episode’s ratings were hindered by the England Rugby World Cup match it was shown against.
Doctor Who was the 24th most watched programme (including multiple editions of certain shows) of the week, and the eighth most watched on BBC One after The Great British Bake-Off, two editions of Strictly Come Dancing, three episodes of EastEnders and Doctor Foster (not related).
BBC iPlayer views for those watching on computers or on mobile devices are not counted in this rating, though iPlayer views on a TV are.
