Doctor Who: The Witch’s Familiar – Question of the Week

WARNING: This post contains major spoilers for The Witch’s Familiar. If you haven’t seen the episode, click away now!

During Series 8, we introduced our Question of the Week polls, asking TGT readers for their opinions on one of the burning questions left by that week’s episode, and releasing the results the following week. We’re continuing that for Series 9, with a new poll every Sunday!

For episode two, The Witch’s Familiar, we’re looking at the key scenes between the Doctor and Davros, where the Dalek creator appeared to show a vulnerable side for the first time, revealing his true eyes and making amends with the Doctor. Except it was all a trick – Davros tricked the Doctor into giving up a bit of regeneration energy by pretending to show compassion. Or was it? After the Doctor revealed that he’d seen through Davros’ deception and had gone along with it, encouraging Davros to show emotion, things seemed a little less clear.
This week’s question is: ‘Was Davros being sincere?’. Was he actually being tricked into showing emotion and compassion by the Doctor, who knew what Davros was doing all along? After all, Davros did reveal his true eyes to the Doctor… Leave your thoughts in the poll below.

Was Davros’ sincerity with the Doctor true?

We’ll be revealing the results of this poll, alongside the results of our traditional rate the episode poll (which you can vote in here), on Saturday 3rd October. We’ll have the Question of the Week for Under the Lake on Sunday!
