Doctor Who’s Captain Jack Joins CW’s Arrow

John Barrowman, known for his role as Captain Jack on Doctor Who and Torchwood, has signed up to The CW’s new action-drama series Arrow.

It’s said he has a recurring role in Arrow’s debut season, but the producers are keeping his character hush, hush. All we know is that Barrowman will play a “well-dressed man” who is “as mysterious as his is wealthy … he is an acquaintance of the Queen family and a prominent figure in Starling City.”

The show, which airs on Wednesday October 10th, looks to be a modern Robin Hood thriller that might have been inspired by the Borne franchise. One thing’s for sure, the main character, Oliver Queen, is based upon DC comic’s Green Arrow.

There are no other details on Barrowman’s role, nor is it revealed which episode he’ll make his first appearance, but from the few hints the producers have given us, and from watching the trailer, it seems likely that Barrowman’s character is on the wrong side of the fight. Unless he’s a spy, of course.
