Georgia Tennant returns as Jenny for new Doctor Who audio dramas

Georgia Tennant will be making her Doctor Who return as Jenny – the Doctor’s daughter – in a new series of audio dramas from Big Finish.

Jenny: The Doctor’s Daughter will star the real-life daughter of Fifth Doctor Peter Davison in four brand new audio adventures, on which she also acts as associate producer.

Jenny was introduced in 2008’s The Doctor’s Daughter, which saw her created from a sample of DNA taken from the Tenth Doctor (Georgia’s now-husband David Tennant). Revived after a fatal shooting the Doctor’s ‘daughter’ went on to steal a spaceship, declaring she had ‘an awful lot of running to do’ – and now this new set of audio adventures is set to discover just what the universe had in store for her.

Georgia says of her Doctor Who return:

“I’m so thrilled to be joining forces with Big Finish to bring Jenny back. As we head into the 21st century, FINALLY a female Time Lord in charge of her own spaceship… oh wait!”

The four new adventures from Big Finish have been penned by Doctor Who writers Matt Fitton and John Dorney, Poldark’s Christian Brassington and White Man Van writer Adrian Poynton. The boxset consists of the following four stories:

Stolen Goods by Matt Fitton
Prisoner of the Ood by John Dorney
Neon Reign by Christian Brassington
Zero Space by Adrian Poynton

Joining Jenny on her new adventures will be her very own companion; Noah will be played by Sean Biggerstaff, who is perhaps best known as Harry Potter’s Gryffindor Quidditch captain Oliver Wood. Also joining the series is Stuart Milligan, who has previously played US President Richard Nixon in the 2011 Doctor Who episodes The Impossible Astronaut and The Day of the Moon.

Producer David Richardson says of Jenny: The Doctor’s Daughter:

“Having worked with Georgia before at Big Finish, I was very keen to make this series happen – and how brilliant to be able to bring Jenny into her own audio adventure series. I’m very proud of the female role models we have in our catalogue – River Song, Bernice Summerfield, Sarah Jane Smith, Charlotte Pollard among them – and in Jenny we have another brave, bold, intelligent woman who risks everything to save and protect others.”

Executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery says:

“I am very excited about discovering the new adventures of Jenny – a rogue element in the universe of Doctor Who.  is so much we can do with the character and I’m really glad that Georgia has agreed to not only come back to play the part, but also to participate in moving the series forward.”

Jenny: The Doctor’s Daughter will be released in June 2018 and is now available to pre-order on CD and digital download. The new boxset is also available to pre-order as part of a bundle with the recently-announced fourth and fifth series of The Diary of River Song.
