John Barrowman Keen For Captain Jack To Return To Doctor Who

John Barrowman has said that he is keen to return to Doctor Who and claims that Matt Smith wants to see the character return as well.

Speaking at the C2E2 2012 event in Chicago, he explained why he thinks Captain Jack should feature in prestigious episodes, such as the upcoming 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who next year.

Speaking to MTV Geek, he said: ‘I think it would be a shame if Captain Jack wasn’t involved in the 50th anniversary, because he was such a big figure and a big presence within the show itself and also within Torchwood,’

The actor also revealed that both Matt Smith, who plays The Doctor, and Steven Moffat, the executive producer of the show, think that Captain Jack Harkness returning would be ‘a great idea’

But he is not convinced that will be enough to persuade the BBC to bring him back to the series and suggested viewers and fans put more pressure on the corporation.

‘It’s not up to me, it’s up to the executives, and it’s also kind of up to the fans, because if they want it, all they have to do is get on those keyboards and start writing. You have been known to change things.’

He also admitted that he’d love to film another series of Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood.
