Ever since it was announced that Capaldi will be stepping down as the Doctor at the end of 2017, there has been lots of talk about who his successor might be. Peoples of the internet and bookies alike have been tossing around names of likely candidates. One name that kept cropping up was Kris Marshall.
After the actor announced his exit from Death in Paradise, many people working at the rumour mill saw this as a sign that the actor was freeing himself up to take on the role of the Thirteenth Doctor.
After weeks of speculation, Marshall has finally spoken about the rumours. In an interview with the Herald Sun, he said he was “very flattered to be considered by the good public” as the next Doctor, before adding “I wouldn’t put any money on it yet.”
However, he did agree that it was more likely for him to become the next Doctor than the next James Bond.
