National Television Awards 2014 Shortlist

Doctor Who is in two categories in the shortlist for this the 2014 National TV Awards. The show has been nominated in the Drama section, facing Broadchurch, Downton Abbey and Call The Midwife.

This year marks a change, in that male and female actors have been combined for Drama Performance. Matt Smith has made the shortlist, up against Martin Clunes (Dr Martin Ellingham, Doc Martin), Maggie Smith (Violet Crawley, Downton Abbey) and Miranda Hart (Chummy Noakes, Call The Midwife). Though Jenna Coleman was included in the longlist she failed to make the shortlist.
Hopefully this year we will be more successful, as least year, neither the show, nominees Matt Smith or Karen Gillan managed to win any awards.

The ceremony will take place at the 02 in London, broadcast live on ITV from 7:30pm on the 22nd.
