In these desolate times of no new episodes on TV, it can be hard to come by your weekly fix of Doctor Who, which is why we turn to the print industry to keep us satisfied.
BBC Worldwide and Titan have announced a new UK based Doctor Who Comic, which is to be launched on 26th February.
The 84 page, four-weekly comic will focus on the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors in their own on-going stories.
The Tenth Doctor’s story picks up shortly after Donna Noble’s exit, when the Doctor felt like he could never have another companion. Adventures will include psychic aliens, a New York laundrette operator and the Mexican Day of the Dead festival.
Meanwhile, the Eleventh Doctor’s adventures take place during his time away from Amy and Rory. He will encounter a grieving young woman, a 70’s musician and an amnesiac alien.
The Twelfth Doctor and Clara will be travelling together in the TARDIS, facing a millennia-old entity on a freshly-terraformed planet, fighting an ancient alien.
The comic features a number of well respected writers and artists, including Eisner Award-winning Nick Abadzis (Laika), Elena Casagrande (Angel, Star Trek), Al Ewing (Loki: Agent of Asgard) and Rob Williams(Trifecta), Simon Fraser (Grindhouse), Eagle award-winning writer Robbie Morrison (The Authority, 2000AD) and Dave Taylor (Batman: Death By Design, 2000AD).
The comic will also contain competitions and free giveaways.
Nicholas Brett, Director of UK Publishing, BBC Worldwide, said:
We’re delighted that Titan will be bringing fans the Doctor Who Comic from next month and extending the relationship BBC Worldwide already enjoys with Titan.
Issue one of BBC Doctor Who Comic will be available from the 26th February and will be available every four weeks in supermarkets, WH Smiths and independent newsagents at £3.99.
