In a recent interview with the Independent, 8th Doctor, Paul McGann has confirmed that he hasn’t heard anything about Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary celebrations next year, nor has he been contacted about it.
When asked if he had heard anything, he said:
“No, I mean, I know it’s imminent but no, there’s been no invites to or sounding out taking place but maybe it will happen, we don’t know.”
This comes after speculation that there will be a ‘multi Doctor’ episode next year.
Paul went on to admit that he’s not that familiar with the ‘new era’. He said:
“I don’t have a television. No. So, I don’t watch anything.”
He goes on to give his opinion on the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith: “I know Matt Smith and I saw him the other day. It’s in safe hands, the kid’s obviously brilliant, a really, really good choice to take it on.”
