The BBC have revealed a significant amount of information about the salaries paid to their top stars today, and one of those stars is Peter Capaldi, whose role as the incumbent Doctor makes him one of the key faces of the broadcasting network.
According to the official report, Capaldi earned about £200,000-£250,000 as the Doctor in the last year. That’s a way off the network’s highest-paid talent, who is Derek Thompson, lead of fellow Saturday night drama Casualty, earning £350,000-£400,000 within the same period.
Capaldi presumably earns more from other commercial endeavours associated with the role such as merchandising work and back-end fees for BBC Worldwide, as the number released is just the basic salary paid to him.
