Peter Davison and Georgia Tennant team up for Big Finish adventure

As part of Big Finish’s 20th anniversary, The Doctor will be reunited with his daughter in an exciting new ‘epic’ audio adventure.

Georgia Tennant will reprise her role of Jenny – the Doctor’s daughter who first appeared in 2008’s The Doctor’s Daughter – opposite her real-life father, Peter Davision, who plays the Fifth Doctor.

Written by Matt Fitton, Relative Time is the fourth of six hour-long stories that make up the 20th anniversary special, The Legacy of Time.

The story will see Jenny teaming up with the Fifth Doctor to defeat a Time Lord called Nine, played by John Heffernan. The synopsis for the episode is as follows:

Disaster strikes inside the Time Vortex, throwing together the Fifth Doctor and his future daughter Jenny – and the Nine sees an opportunity to steal something huge.

Producer David Richardson said of the reunion:

It was just an irresistible idea, the thought of airing father and daughter, playing father and daughter, in our massive 20th anniversary special. And it’s great to have Jenny back again after the enormous success of her debut on audio.

The Doctor and Jenny won’t be the only reunion in The Legacy of Time. The series will see characters from across the entire history of Doctor Who, including Professor River Song meeting Professor Bernice Summerfield and Kate Stewart travelling back in time to classic UNIT to meet the Third Doctor and Jo Grant.

Georgia Tennant will reprise her role of Jenny - the Doctor's daughter who first appeared in 2008's The Doctor's Daughter - opposite her real-life father, Peter Davision, who plays the Fifth Doctor.

Of course, no Doctor Who special would be complete without multiple Doctors. Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Paul McGann, and Sylvester McCoy will all feature in the special.

Richardson said of the story:

The Legacy of Time is quite possibly the biggest Doctor Who story we have ever told at Big Finish.

The official synopsis for The Legacy of Time is as follows:

Time is collapsing. Incidents of temporal chaos and devastation are appearing throughout the many lives of the Doctor and his friends – fallout from one terrible disaster.

The Doctor must save history itself – and he will need all the help he can get. The truth is revealed, and it will take more than one Doctor to save the day!

The six stories that make up The Legacy of Time are:

  1. Lies in Ruins by James Goss
  2. The Split Infinitive by John Dorney
  3. The Sacrifice of Jo Grant by Guy Adams
  4. Relative Time by Matt Fitton
  5. The Avenues of Possibility by Jonny Morris
  6. Collision Course by Guy Adams

Doctor Who: The Legacy of Time will be available from on download and as a limited edition eight-disc CD set (only 4,000 copies available) from July 2019.
