The Gallifrey Times is sorry to report that veteran Who director Christopher Barry passed away last Friday following a fall at his Oxfordshire home (7th February).
Barry was the longest-serving director on the classic series of Doctor Who, directing no less than eleven stories over 16 years – including the second story ever, The Daleks and the debuts of Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker in The Power of the Daleks and Robot respectively.
Barry directed stories for each of the first four Doctors, and his stories are some of the most well regarded of Doctor Who‘s early years. Barry was eighty-eight at his time of death.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. He will be missed.
