You might of seen a few articles over at Doctor Who Online, Blogtor Who and Kasterborous that are making people aware of an online scam offering missing Doctor Who episodes in exchange for credit card access to an online porn site.
We are joining DWO, Blogtor Who and Kasterborous in making our readers and visitors aware of the scam after we have received several emails bringing our attention to the matter.
The site, which is called RogueCyberman and has an online blog and Twitter account, claims to have missing episodes such as ‘The Faceless Ones’ and ‘The Macra Terror’, and offers them as ‘bonus content’ when you sign up (with a credit card) to Time Girl Katie’s porn site. Interestingly the site has now gone offline but we accessed a cached version to find exactly what the reports suggested. The brilliant fans of Doctor Who were quick to get both RogueCyberman and TimeGirlKatie suspended from Twitter.
The anonymous blogger claimed:
“All of the missing episodes recently recovered from an anonymous collector in Kent have been successfully digitised and are now available to download as bonus content in Time Girl Katie’s free private members area.”
DWO received a number of emails from Doctor Who fans claiming that their children (looking for missing Doctor Who episodes) stumbled across RogueCyberman’s blog and were exposed to porn from Time Girl Katie’s site, from which his blog directly links to in promise of the episodes. This link has since been pulled from the site and the blogger is now claiming that the reports are not true even though we have already seen the evidence.
Evidence can be seen below, with thanks to Robert Lenko:
The Gallifrey Times would like to join Doctor Who Online, Blogtor Who, Kasterborous, Outpost Skaro & Companions Of The Doctor in their efforts to make everyone aware of this scam and we would like to remind you that there is no Doctor Who content at all on the site.
