Series 11 Episode 3 title and synopsis released

Despite series 11 now underway, we still don’t know the majority of the episode titles, thanks to Chibnall’s super secrecy. However, the BBC have now announced the title of episode 3, which is called Rosa.

The episode is written by acclaimed children’s author Malorie Blackman –  who wrote a short story for the Doctor Who 12 Doctor’s 12 Stories book – and directed by Mark Tonderai.

In the episode, Vinette Robinson (Sherlock, The A Word and Doctor Who episode 42) will play the role of the black civil rights campaigner Rosa Parks.

The Doctor takes her companions on their first journey back in time – to the dangerous, racially segregated world of Alabama in the 1950’s. They encounter one of the era’s heroes, black civil rights campaigner Rosa Parks, but also discover a plot to change the course of history.

The series continues this Sunday with The Ghost Monument at 6:55pm on BBC 1 with Episode 3 following the Sunday 21st October.
