Sharon D Clarke reveals her role in Doctor Who Series 11

Sharon D Clarke has shared further details on who she’ll be playing in the upcoming eleventh series of Doctor Who

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, Clarke revealed that her character – previously described as having a ‘returning role‘ in the series – will be closely connected to at least one member of the show’s new TARDIS team:

“I am a human, and Bradley Walsh is my husband, and he’s human, and I think that’s about as much as I can tell you.

“I’m not sure if I can even tell you that, to be honest! I might have to kill you.”

Clarke was also full of praise for her Doctor Who colleague Jodie Whittaker, who later this year will be appearing in her first full series as the Thirteenth Doctor following her cameo in last year’s Christmas special Twice Upon a Time:

“Jodie is phenomenal. She’s just joy, absolutely joy. She’s gonna slay it.

“And what’s lovely about Jodie […] because she always plays these kind of dour characters who are downtrodden, [is to play] someone who’s up and hopeful and fighting crime – she’s just bouncing around the set.

“She’s definitely earning those two hearts that the Doctor has. She’s wonderful, I absolutely adore her.”

The latest edition of Loose Ends also saw comedian and Not Going Out star Lee Mack let slip that he may at last have gained a much-coveted part in Doctor Who himself having ‘harassed‘ new showrunner Chris Chibnall, whilst earlier this month Alan Cumming spilled the beans on his Series 11 guest role as ‘nice baddie’ James I via the Homo Sapiens podcast.
The eleventh series of Doctor Who is currently filming, with the show set to return to BBC One this autumn.
