The final ratings for the second episode of Series 11, The Ghost Monument, have been released.
The episode had 8.67 million viewers after a week of catch-up on TV devices, a rise of 1.56 million on the overnight figure of 7.11 million. That’s a little under two million down on the premiere, a relatively standard fall for the second episode of a new Doctor (it’s higher, for instance, than New Earth, The Beast Below or Into the Dalek) – and it’s, as with the premiere, in a ratings ballpark not reached by Doctor Who since 2010.
Doctor Who was fourth for the week (compared to second last week) behind two editions of Strictly Come Dancing and The Great British Bake-Off, and third for BBC One. We’ll update those post with the four-screen ratings for mobile, tablet and computer later.
