We’ve known the date of Series 11’s premiere for a few weeks now, and the show’s new home on Sundays – and after a few false starts, the BBC have confirmed just exactly when the Thirteenth Doctor’s era will begin.
The Woman Who Fell to Earth will premiere on Sunday 7th October at 6.45pm, and as previously announced, it’ll be an extended episode, running for 60 minutes. BBC America will simultaneously broadcast the premiere, so US viewers can catch it at 1.45pm Eastern time, before an evening repeat in its usual slot.
The BBC’s Sunday schedule is typically a great deal more set in stone than its Saturdays, so Doctor Who will most likely occupy a prime 7pm slot on Sundays for the entirety of the season.
